Brightli is more than just a productivity app—it's your personal growth companion that helps you understand what truly works for you. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know to start your journey.

Step 1: Download and Install

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Search for "Brightli"
  3. Tap "Get" to download and install the app
  4. Open Brightli from your home screen

Step 2: Set Up Your Profile

When you first open Brightli, you'll go through a quick onboarding process:

Brightli organizes your activities into four main categories to help you maintain balance:

Strong

Physical activities like exercise, sports, and movement. Track your workouts, runs, yoga sessions, and any physical wellness activities.

Smart

Mental wellness and learning activities. This includes reading, meditation, studying, courses, and cognitive development.

Happy

Social connections and joyful experiences. Time with friends, hobbies, creative pursuits, and activities that bring you joy.

Organized

Productivity and task management. Work projects, household chores, errands, and organizational tasks.

Step 4: Schedule Your First Activity

Ready to close your first loop? Here's how to create a tracked activity:

  1. Tap the + button at the bottom of your screen
  2. Enter a title for your activity (e.g., "Morning Run," "Team Meeting")
  3. Select a category (Strong, Smart, Happy, or Organized)
  4. Set the date and time
  5. Add the expected duration
  6. Toggle "Activity Tracking" ON to enable reflection questions
  7. Optionally add notes
  8. Tap "Save"
🎯 Important: Make sure to enable "Activity Tracking" if you want to receive reflection prompts and gain insights from this activity!

Step 5: Complete Your Activity

When it's time for your activity:

  1. You'll receive a notification reminder (if enabled)
  2. Open Brightli and find your activity on the dashboard
  3. Tap the three dots menu on the activity
  4. Select "Complete" when you're done

Step 6: Answer Reflection Questions

This is where the magic happens! After completing a tracked activity, you'll receive personalized reflection questions:

  1. Go to the Reflections tab in your navigation
  2. You'll see pending reflections for completed activities
  3. Tap "Reflect" on a pending reflection
  4. Answer the questions honestly—there are no wrong answers!
  5. Add any freeform notes if you'd like
  6. Tap "Complete Reflection"
💭 Reflection Tip: Be honest with yourself. The more authentic your responses, the more accurate and helpful your insights will be. Don't overthink it—your first instinct is usually right!

After consistently tracking activities and completing reflections for about a week, you'll start seeing personalized insights:

Set Reminders

Enable notifications so you don't forget to complete activities and reflections.

Review Weekly

Spend 5 minutes each week reviewing your insights. Look for patterns and opportunities to optimize.
