Step-by-step instructions for getting the most out of Brightli
Tap the Settings icon in the bottom-right corner of the main navigation bar
Select Data Export from the settings menu
Select the Reflections or Journal button
Select one or more journal entries or reflection responses
Tap Export Data and choose how to share or save the file (email it to yourself, save to Files app, etc.)
Your exported data includes all local data that was stored on your device.
Reflections are available when you mark a tracked activity as complete. If you've enabled "Activity Tracking" when creating an activity, Brightli will prompt you to reflect after you complete it.
Tap the activity and select the three dots in the activity details pop up screen
Find the activity in the Pending Reflections section or the Pending tab in the Reflections tile and tap on it
You'll see a 1-5 star rating scale, tap to rate how the activity went (long-press for half-star ratings)
Based on your activity and rating Brightli will select an appropriate question
Type your responses, these are only for you so be honest
Tap Submit to save your reflection
Brightli adapts its questions based on your rating:
Instead of "It was good," try "I felt energized because I started early and the weather was perfect."
Mention factors like time of day, who you were with, your mood beforehand, weather, or location.
Your reflections are private. Being truthful gives you better insights over time.
A sentence or two with key details is often enough to capture your experience.
If you assign a rating but skip the response, the activity will still generate insights. However, for best results, always submit a reflection response.
Complete a tracked activity by tapping the activity
Select Complete from the three-dot menu in the pop up screen
The reflection flow begins immediately
Rate your experience (1-5 stars), answer the questions that appear, and tap Submit
Tap the Reflections tile
Select the Pending tab in the Reflections screen
Tap on any activity in the list
The reflection prompt opens with the activity details. Rate and answer the questions, then tap Submit
Go to the Tracking tab and switch to Week or Month view, use the Calendar to select a specific date, or scroll through past weeks. Once found, tap the activity, mark it complete, then head to Reflections → Pending.
Find the activity you want to delete on your main screen or calendar
Tap on the activity to open its details
Tap the Three Dots menu icon (⋯) or Edit, then tap Delete Activity
Go to the Settings icon in the navigation bar
Select Data, then go to the Data Export section
Tap the journal entries or reflections you wish to delete
Tap Delete Selected and confirm by typing "DELETE" when prompted
This action cannot be undone. Make sure to export your data first if you want to keep a backup.
Tap Settings on the navigation bar
Scroll to the bottom to find Clear All Data
Type "DELETE" to confirm and tap Delete
All data stored on your device is immediately deleted
Your app settings, themes, and preferences are reset to defaults
If you want to start fresh but keep your settings and preferences, choose Delete Activities, Insights, or Journal entries in Settings → Account instead. This preserves your app configuration while clearing your history.
